Modern overbust corset

Style

This modern corset reaches over the breasts in a beautiful curving shape and its bottom edge reaches well down the hips. The shape of the corset is between wasp waist and hourglass, meaning that is squeezes the ribs only slightly while the pressure on the waist is strong. The back of the corset curves higher than on many other corset styles. This style of corset supports the breast very well and reduces the waist easily 10 cm, or even more.

Materials

The corset shown here has a top layer of corset brocade which is further supported by another sturdy layer of coutil. The waist tapa has been hidden inside the layers to keep it from irritating those with sensitive skin. This corset has been constructed to be an undergarment and is suitable for long term tightlacing. The style can also be used as a top of an evening gown but then another top layer, perhaps silk brocade, would be added. The boning used is a mix of spiral boning and spring steel boning. There are 20 bones in this corset. In addition to that, the lacing guard is also lightly boned.

Details

The corset shown in the photos has been made out of fabrics custom dyed at the request of the customer. The top brocade is dyed into cream colour and the bone channels and the lacing to slightly contrasting darker shade. The corset has a front busk and a detachable lacing guard / modesty panel. This style can be made without the busk but that makes it more difficult to put on and take off. Detachable or permanently attached garters are also an option for this style.
